Variable Area Flow Meters

Variable area flow meters with a glass cone are a classical and reliable technique. They are used in all areas of industry, particularly in furnace construction, to monitor cooling and flushing processes, in the chemical industry and in water and waste water systems.

SKT/SKP Variable Area Flow Meters

Devices with plastic cones (SKT/SKP/SKPVC) are a cost-effective technique for flow measurement. They are used in water and waste water systems as well as in swimming pools. Devices with a metal measuring tube (SGM) are the perfect solution at high temperatures and pressures. Due to their extensive electronic module options, they are a natural fit for use in process systems in the chemical industry.

SGA Variable Area Flow Meters

The measuring unit SGA is based on the variable area float principle.

Wherever a robust and reliable device for the indication of momentary values and the monitoring of flows in pipelines is required in plant engineering, the SGA is the right choice as a reliable unit for the measurement of liquids and gases. This flow meter is available in a variety of cast iron versions for the application with various media and pressures.

The measuring range for H2O is 0.012 – 0.12 m3/h to 12 – 120 m3/h, the measuring range for gas is 0.15 – 1.5 to 100 – 1000 m3/h air at STP. Each unit is calibrated to meet the requirements of the respective customer and is fitted with a scale specific for the media to be measured.

SGM Variable Area Flow Meters

The function of the SGM is based on the variable area float principle.

In all cases where a dependable device is required for indicating instantaneous values and monitoring the flow in pipelines, the SGM is the obvious choice as a reliable device for measuring the flow of liquids and gases. Since the vertical position of the float is transmitted magnetically to a dial gauge, the SGM, as opposed to standard type variable area flow meters with a glass tube, is also suitable for measuring the flow of opaque media. Each device is individually calibrated to meet customer specifics and fitted with a medium specific scale.

For process control, the flow meter can be equipped with a limit value switch and/or measuring transmitter with electrical analog output.

SGK Short-Tube Flowmeters

Short-tube VA flow meters for small and ultra-small flow volumes in different variants, with adjustment valves or limit switches. These units are used, for example, in furnace construction, laboratory technology and to control small volumes in cooling processes.

SKM Short-Tube Flowmeters

The SKM piston-type flow meter is used for the positionally independent measurement of water, oils or other liquids. The SKM can be used in horizontal or vertical pipelines.

Flap-Type Flowmeters

Reliable measurement units even for arge flow volumes in different variants, with limit switches and electrical measuring value transformers. These devices are used in water preparation systems, power plants, as controls in cooling processes and in systems for building and swimming pools.

Differential Pressure Flowmeters

These devices are manufactured in a wide range of nominal diameters. Devices with small rated widths are used, for example, in cooling circuits to monitor liquids and gases. Both a pure on-site display as well as limit switches and measuring value transformers for process monitoring are available.

Bypass Flowmeters

The applications for bypass flow meters include systems for buildings and swimming pools. They are a costeffective measurement technique for large nominal widths. The cost-effective
device in PVC is frequently used in bath water systems. To measure the flow of aggressive media, for example in water preparation, the unit is available in PVDF, while the DST-1/2 in steel is primarily used for the measurement of air and gases.
